Opencart — Chat Code Installation
Let’s review the methods for installing the Online Chat on websites using the OpenCart CMS.
Method 1. OpenCart 1.5.x.
1. Copy the widget code from the Online Chat settings.
2. The Google Analytics code and the Online Chat widget code have the same placement requirements. Both codes can be placed in this field simultaneously without negatively affecting the website’s performance. The system will work correctly.
To install the Online Chat on OpenCart, go to the site’s admin panel. Click on the “System” menu. Select the “Settings” tab.
3. Click the “Edit” button located to the right of the site.
4. Select the “Server” menu. Scroll down to the “Google Analytics Code” setting. Paste the Online Chat code there.
5. Here is the step-by-step algorithm in Russian:
1) admin panel;
2) system;
3) settings;
4) edit;
5) server;
6) Google Analytics code.
Method 2. OpenCart 2.x
1. Copy the widget code from the Online Chat settings.
2. The method for installing the chat code in OpenCart 2.x is similar to the previous one. The code is inserted into the Google Analytics field. First, go to the “Modules/Extensions” section.
3. Select the “Analytics” type. To add the Google Analytics extension, click the button on the right.
4. Your site will appear in the list. Click the “Edit” button on the right.
5. Paste the chat code into the designated field. To activate the extension, set the status to “Enabled.” Click the save button and save the changes. Everything is ready.
Method 3. Installation via FTP
1. Copy the widget code from the Online Chat settings.
2. Access your hosting directly. Alternatively, use an FTP client. Navigate to the directory at: SiteName/catalog/view/theme/YourTemplateName/template/common/footer.tpl.
3. Open the Footer.tpl file. Paste the Online Chat widget code before the </body> tag. Save the changes. The widget is added to the site.
